It's been a while croc-oh-dile
Hey guys, whats up. Just a quick post here as I'm off to the islands this afternoon. I've not much to show because I've been writing a lot and the drawing side has taken the passanger seat to it. But I have a couple of things.
I had a character long ago named after me, as most of us do at one point or another. He was 'Adam V' and he was kind of a ninja character that was for the innerdark comic I'm working on. But I decided that I don't want him THAT named after me in the final version of things. So I gave him the name Wage, which actually ends up being a pretty cool ninja name. Also, I am very tired of seeing ninjas. They are all over the place (sorry naruto fans, haha) but I did not want some guy running around in black semi-tight fitting clothes with blades strapped to his arms or legs or something, with a magic sword that can make waves appear or something. I wanted something diffrent, and frankly he use to be kinda like that. With dark clothes, then a cloak over it, kinda like vincent from FF7 or along those lines, and even Shadow from FF6 before that. So I not TOO long ago re-vamped him. I mixed a sort of spanish, asian, cowboy look for him. Making him seem more poor, with raggid clothes, to better fit the world he lives in, and that giant akward had and pointy boots do not make you think ninja. And also his sword is wrapped up so it's not nearly as much 'hey check out my badass sword' I will soon do a full proper picture of him, but here is the first design drawing I did for it.
Next someone asked me to draw what the 11th demension looked like. It was a challange, and so I took this challange on, and I think I won!
And finally, I said to my dad "Dad, could you draw me some characters for my comic? Just random guys I could stick all over the place?" This is what he came up with.
My dad is the best dad I've ever had.

Welcome to the new era
Here's the revamped blog.
I just swapped some templates and did a little image in maya for the banner and we're done.
I dare ya to make a nice banner as well. Post it and I'll switch it. Make sure that it is the same dimentions as this one and that it leaves room for the blog name.

Progress
The post after this was just my bike and needs no introduction. Now this is just my progress, I would have been done already if I was still working on it and not typing. Oh and heading out the door to get my niece.
Almost done, just touch ups and the hair really. Not sure how to tackle it. There are so many ways to do this but the one I am trying to mimic isn't working out. Guess that's why I save the hair for last.
No bad but too bright for me and you know what sucks, the fact that it's going to rain before I really get to try out my new parts on my bike.
Took 3 hours to switch and install all the parts of my bike with serious distractions so maybe 2 hours. Either or, it's fucking sweet and rides like a dream. Took it for a test run and it felt great. The tlc I added really helped.
So I got 2 new wheels plus a Nankai Freecoaster. The freecoaster allows me to travel backwards without the pedals moving. Now I can practice back wheel tricks.
Plus I got a new sprocket (3rd pic), that's the chainwheel, much smaller and lighter. Not that it means anything to anybody but me, but who cares, its freakin awesome.
Wasn't the sketchbook blog of Doomz a working title? What ever.
Any how, did this yesterday tried painting it today but something seems very off to me, maybe it's the eyes, or the lips, or maybe it's just that I am not used to seeing my stuff inked.
Gonna redo the lips and see how it looks, but I'm just gonna put a box over the head so I don't get distracted for now. Or maybe I won't paint it and just color it. Fuck I dunno, been debating

Tell me what you think, and I'll keep it in mind for the next pic, cause I'm done with this. Total time, 14 hours 33 minutes in Photoshop.
I asked Arnistotle how long one of his pics took to color and he said 15 hours over 3 days, man was he right. Still fun though, up to the 12 hour mark, after that you just want it done.
Still not sure of a name yet, so for now it's Scarlet. This one character has gone through so many tweaks trying to find a world to fit into, but the main idea has stayed the same.
A quick doodle of Sesshoumaru and Rin. I don't know how Rin ended up in this but whatever. Worst flower ever but I doubt I'll fix it as I'm just that lazy. Also his armour is off. His expression amuses me though. "Laugh and I'll kill you." Damn right he will
ASA!! If I put my best effort into this I'm hoping I can make a suitable waterfall and rocks...we'll see. But so far me likey. Yeah I know the ball isn't complete. I'll fix that later
Critique
Need some input.
Near the final stretch. Yellow shirt, laces, locket and tattoos are the only things left. Also the rest of the belt which I've saved for last cause the red, white and blue braclet wasn't too fun.
Character: Scarlet (working title). Short, tomboy, gothic/ punk girl. Broad shoulders due to seriousl flatland riding.
Fucking Wisdomless Teeth
Yo, who the fuck needs wisdom teeth. Woke up yesterday and my face was killing me couldn't eat or nothing man. A little better but still hurting.
I decided to start coloring this, more like paint. Gonna try drawing the characters doing a trick. That's hard cause perspective comes into play.

...After 15 years, he walked out of the past....
I've been internetless due to moving, so I'm afraid I've not been able to join in on the posting fun with all you guys. I hope this post finds you all well, and now that I've got internet again, I'll be sure to keep up on my end of the action. Here is a picture I drew, and then scanned and coloured. I'm writting my comic in a novel form right now, and this was just and idea for the cover. But either way, I like it. I would not say it's finished, but it's one way I could go with the colouring. I'll also post the pencil drawing of it, because I feel it's strong enough on its own.

Resurrection?
Well, well. Since activity on this blog has started slowing to a crawl, I guess something should be done about it, no? I mean, I could propose one of a gazillion different themes or ideas I have, but what good would it do in the end? Then I thought a bit harder about it - it's a sketchblog. I sketch all the time. And all the sketches do is just lie around all day. So why not post them?
So that's what I'll start doing. Post all these damn sketches of mine - no matter how incomplete they may be. I've said it in the past - I have a tendency to stop working on a sketch part-way through, simply because I get tired or bored of doing it. And I got in a little tiff with my father a couple of days back for how cluttered my room is. So why not convert all these loose sheets of paper into electronic form? Problem solved! (Granted that I remember to back up my hard drive...!)
Actually, before I post anything, I suppose I should ask. Most of my sketches involve spoilers for my
Fish & Chimps series. Anyone mind this? (Well, I know Clare doesn't.) Or should I keep all that wrapped up and see what I can get together from my random collection? Lemme know.
